The medik8 Facials all incorporate an enzyme peel suitable for all skin types including even the most sensitive of skin and pregnant women.

Is there any downtime? Is there any downtime?

The enzyme peel solution that is applied to the skin is intended to dry up the superficial layer of the skin and mild peeling may occur as all the dead skin is removed off the surface layer during this process. Some clients may experience mild redness and itching much like a sunburn as the skin begins to peel. We recommend to all our clients a customized skincare regime that will help maximize results and minimize the downtime during their course of treatments.

Is the treatment painful? Is the treatment painful?

Clients may experience a slight tingling or burning sensation during the procedure. This sensation is very minimal and is bearable, no sedation or anesthetic is needed to carry out this procedure.

It is advised that clients avoid sun exposure following their treatment. Sunscreen must be worn at all times. Aftercare advice will be provided to all clients during their consultation prior to their treatment.

Results from dermaplaning are temporary and last about 2-4 weeks. This time frame may vary depending on each individual's skin and the time frame it takes their skin to complete a rejuvenation cycle. It is not a permanent solution, as dead skin cells continue to build over time and fine hairs constantly grow.
